ACADEMIC ACHIEVEMENT

ISI products and services help adult learners achieve their academic goals by serving as a solution in GED and college prep programs.  Here are some examples of how ISI leads both the adult learner and program implementers to successful outcomes.

CLIENT Queens Educational Opportunity Center	CHALLENGE Adults who did not go straight to college from high school need help preparing for college entrance exams.	OUTCOME After successful completion of ISI academic courses, 90% of program participants pass their college entrance exams.
CLIENT ARNG GED Plus Program Little Rock, Arkansas	CHALLENGE Enlistees with academic deficiencies were not passing the GED on the first attempt.	OUTCOME After intensive short term use of ISI academic courses, 75% of enlistees pass the GED on their second attempt.
CLIENT EOC of Westchester Yonkers, NY	CHALLENGE Young adults or adults who have been out of school for a long time struggle to pass the GED exam.	OUTCOME After completion of program requirements, this site demonstrates a GED passing rate of 76% as compared with the NYS pass rate of 55%.
CLIENT Sullivan County ATTAIN Lab	CHALLENGE The traditional GED Prep classroom is over capacity.	OUTCOME ISI academic courses and the lab environment gave GED students the individualized attention and one-on-one assistance that the classroom could not provide.

OCCUPATIONAL OUTCOMES

Individuals in need of workplace skills take advantage of ISI products to gain job-specific knowledge, pass relevant exams and become successfully employed. Here are some highlights.

CLIENT QEOC Queens, NY	CHALLENGE Preparing clients for the New York State computerized medical billing certification exam	OUTCOME As a result of the comprehensive preparation, 75% of the program participants pass the New York State computerized billing certification exam.
CLIENT SUNY UCAWD ATTAIN Labs	CHALLENGE Mandated TANF clients lack the necessary job skills to be placed in appropriate work experience sites.	OUTCOME ISI programs allow TANF clients to meet participation requirements and receive vocational/academic training for in-demand skills.
CLIENT EOCs: Buffalo & Queens	CHALLENGE Clients have passed the Home Health Worker Program and want to become Certified Nursing Assistants.	OUTCOME Graduates of this program are prepared to enroll in a New York State Certified Nursing Assistant program and/or to take the New York State Nurse Aide certification exam administered by the New York State Department of Health.

LIFE SKILLS DEVELOPMENT

To succeed in life, individuals need important soft skills which are often not addressed in traditional educational settings.  Through self-paced instruction, ISI products deliver this valuable information.  Here are just two examples of the numerous ways in which ISI assists in life skills development.

CLIENT Sullivan County ATTAIN Lab Monticello, NY	CHALLENGE Parents who have children in the Head Start program need parenting skills and life skills.	OUTCOME Parents use ISI courseware to learn about child development, best parenting practices and to acquire other soft skills such as time management and organization.
CLIENT Queens Educational Opportunity Center ATTAIN Lab	CHALLENGE High Risk teens associated with social concern agencies (e.g., Harlem Dowling, ACS, group therapy, etc.) face the potential risk of being removed from their homes.	OUTCOME These teens utilize ISI's You Can Make It Happen and attend the ATTAIN lab, resulting in a certificate that reflects their commitment to achieving personal goals and demonstrating responsibility for their actions. Consequently, they are given another opportunity by the agency and/or parent/guardian to stay in the home.
