Description::
These are computer assisted instruction programs designed to improve student skills in reading, writing mechanics, remedial math and college math. If your scores on the Computerized Placement Tests indicate that you need more work in one of these areas, these web-based courses will provide you with the opportunity to work through series of questions and problems, with the assistance of a textbook and mentor, to give you the skill-building practice you need.
Policies:

Students will be asked to take the CPT’s (Computerized Placement Tests) prior to enrolling and again at completion of the course(s). Prior CPT scores will be accepted.

Books for the College Remedial Math and College Remedial Writing courses will be given, free of charge, to the 25 students who sign up for this pilot program by meeting with the appropriate advisor and signing the ISI Pilot Learning Contract.

Students will have until January 15th to use the software with the guidance of the mentor. The software will remain available to the students for their use, however, until September 30, 2000.

Students will set goals to master the content needed for them to place out of the appropriate remedial course, and we will do our best to help you meet your goals.

It is recommended that students should maintain at least 80% on each module / lesson. Your mentor will have access to your records, and will be able to identify areas that are problematic for you. Via telephone and e-mail, and using the textbooks given to you as part of the pilot program, she will do her best to assist you as you progress through the program.
